DINGUS "The Record That Made Them Huge" out now
Posted on August 7th, 2024
Dingus is a weirdo pop-punk band from Minneapolis MN that have been playing together for the past 23 years. Jonathan Walters (bass, lead vox), Parker Thompson (drums, backing vox), and Sam Beer (guitar, backing vox) grew up together in North Dakota and, in 2004, moved to Minneapolis. They have been playing locally and touring together ever since.
Dingus is not your average pop-punk band. They take influence from everything from 90s punk like Lagwagon and Osker, to rock bands like Queen and Metallica, to Broadway show tunes, while never steering too far from the catchy pop punk noise they’ve never grown out of. While lyrically, they cover topics of politics, relationships, and religion, a good fart joke is never too lowbrow for the clan Dingi.
These aging punks are best friends and have been playing together since the nineties and show no intentions of ever stopping. I mean, it's been 23 years. Why stop now?
